Thoughts on the performance:
-over all it was a good performance
-rushed during the second movement
-tone was not as good during quiet parts
-sections stayed together
Personal goals:
-look up more/get out of my music more
-queue more
-memorize more of the piece
-improve all skills
This section has contrast as the instruments switch melody the melody changes, it doesn't repeat.
1:12-1:41
In the begging of this section both cellos play the same melody. Then the one cello on the left changes melody while the one on the right uses repetition and repeats the old melody. When the one on the right changes melody the one on the left repeats his melody.
1:42-2:05
The cello on the left continues to repeat his melody from the last section while the one on the right changes to a shorter melody that he repeats throughout the section.
2:06-2:29
The left continues with repetition of his melody while the one on the right has a variation change on his melody that he then repeats for the rest of the section.
2:30-3:05
Lots of contrast at the begging of the section as the 2 Cellos change there melody twice before moving back into a repetition section before changing again right at the end.
3:06-3:16
The left has repetition, while the right has slight variation changes when he play in the section.
3:17-4:05
Contrast as they change melody ounce again. Then some variation changes as the go along, and a short call and response section.
4:06-4:24
Repetition as they return to the melody from earlier in the piece.
4:25-4:50
The one on the right has a slight variation change before returning back to his original melody. The left has a large contrast as he begins to play a completely new melody,
The melody is conjunct because the range is not that large.
The meter is D-S as it plays in 4/4 you can hear it in the main melody.
The tempo is allegro because you can feel it when counting the tempo.
The texture is light because there are only the two cellos playing.
I'm proud of my growth since the begging of last year to the begging of this year to the end of this year. Beacuase I know I have grown alot since the begging of this year and that I have grown alot since I first started orchestra at the IA and I'm proud of the growth that I have made.
I feel that the ansamble has improved on alot compared to the begging of the year. More people are counting as well as looking up to get out of there music. There are less open strings being played. Over all the orchestra has begun to play more musicaly, they adding virbarto, queing, counting, and paying alot more attention to dynamics makeing the music we play sound alot better to how we were in the begging.
For the ensamble I am most proud of our last preformince especially galloway. The preformince did a great job of showing how we have grown and I think it turned out great for our last preformince of the year.
